These Student Terms & Conditions (“Student Terms”) govern your use of the LiveGuruji platform and your enrollment in any course on liveguruji.com (“Platform”). By registering on the Platform, enrolling in a course, or making any payment, you agree to be bound by these Student Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and general Website Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform or enroll in any course.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and LiveGuruji.

1Definitions

  • “LiveGuruji” / “we” / “us” / “our” – the platform owner and operator.
  • “Tutor” / “Guru” – an independent individual or organization offering a course on the Platform. Tutors are not employees or agents of LiveGuruji.
  • “Student” / “you” / “your” – any person who registers on the Platform and/or enrolls in a course.
  • “Course” – any live or recorded class, batch, workshop, or program listed on the Platform.
  • “Batch” – a group of students enrolled in the same Course schedule.

2Nature of the Platform

  • LiveGuruji is a technology platform that connects students with independent Tutors.
  • The Tutor alone is responsible for content quality, teaching style, completion of syllabus, and classroom conduct.
  • LiveGuruji manages the platform, payment collection, support, and basic quality checks, but does not guarantee:
    • any specific learning outcome,
    • exam result,
    • job placement, internship, or salary.

3Eligibility & Account

  • You must be legally capable of entering into a binding contract under Indian law, or use the Platform under supervision of a parent/guardian who accepts these Student Terms.
  • You must provide accurate information during registration and keep it updated.
  • You are fully responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and all activities under your account.

4Course Information & Your Responsibilities

Before enrolling, you are responsible for reviewing the course title, syllabus, prerequisites, schedule, fees, and Tutor profile.

  • You are responsible for:
    • having a suitable device (laptop/mobile/tablet),
    • stable internet connection,
    • required software/tools for the Course.
  • Your late joining, non-attendance, or lack of participation will not automatically entitle you to any refund.

5Payments, Fees & Invoices

  • All course fees are collected by LiveGuruji on behalf of the Tutor. A portion of the fee is later shared with the Tutor as per our internal payout policy.
  • By making a payment, you agree to pay all applicable fees, taxes, and charges displayed at checkout.
  • All payments must be made through the Platform’s approved payment gateways. Direct payments to Tutors outside the Platform are at your own risk and will not be supported by LiveGuruji.

6Refunds, Cancellations & Course Changes

All refunds are governed strictly by this Section and the specific refund rules displayed on the course page (if any). Where there is a conflict, these Student Terms prevail.

6.1 Refund if Tutor Cancels the Batch

If a Tutor cancels the entire batch before completion of the syllabus and LiveGuruji is unable to offer you:

  • a suitable replacement Tutor or
  • transfer to another acceptable batch of the same course,

you will be eligible for a refund for the un-delivered portion of the course fee (pro-rated) or up to 100% if no classes were delivered.

If LiveGuruji offers a reasonable alternative (replacement Tutor or new batch with comparable schedule and syllabus) and you unreasonably refuse it, LiveGuruji may treat this as a student-initiated cancellation, and a refund may not be provided.

6.2 Refund in Case of Poor Quality / Negative Reviews (Early Escalation Rule)

To prevent misuse and at the same time protect genuine students:

If you believe the Tutor’s quality is very poor (teaching, behaviour, syllabus coverage, etc.), you must raise a complaint early:

  • You must submit a written complaint through the Platform or support email before completing 20% of the course (based on number of planned classes or total course hours, as defined by LiveGuruji).

LiveGuruji will review:

  • your complaint,
  • other students’ feedback,
  • any available recordings or logs.

If, for that batch:

  • more than 50% of enrolled students submit negative feedback for the Tutor within the first 20% of the course, and
  • LiveGuruji, in its sole discretion, agrees that the quality is not acceptable,

then LiveGuruji may:

  • cancel or change the batch,
  • assign a new Tutor, and/or
  • issue a partial or full refund for the remaining portion of the course.

Complaints raised after 20% of the course is completed will usually not be eligible for a refund, except in exceptional cases (serious misconduct, clear breach of policy) decided solely by LiveGuruji.

6.3 No Refund in Certain Situations

Unless otherwise required by law or explicitly stated on a course page, you will not be entitled to a refund in the following cases:

  • You miss classes, join late, or are absent due to your personal reasons (work, exams, travel, network issues, etc.).
  • You do not like the Tutor’s accent, teaching style, or personality but did not raise a timely complaint under the early escalation rule.
  • You complete a substantial portion of the course (normally more than 50–70%) and then request a refund.
  • You are removed from the course for misconduct, policy violations, or abusive behaviour.
  • You directly arrange separate classes/payments with the Tutor outside the Platform.

6.4 Rescheduling & Technical Issues

If the Tutor or LiveGuruji cancels/reschedules a class due to technical or personal reasons, reasonable efforts will be made to:

  • reschedule the class,
  • extend the batch,
  • or provide a suitable adjustment.

Technical issues on your device, network, or environment are your responsibility and are not grounds for a refund.

6.5 Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

You agree to first contact LiveGuruji support to resolve any payment dispute before initiating a chargeback with your bank or payment provider.

Unjustified or fraudulent chargebacks may result in:

  • immediate suspension of your account,
  • denial of future services,
  • recovery of amounts plus any applicable fees and legal costs.

7Student Conduct & Classroom Behaviour

You agree to maintain a professional, respectful environment. You must not use:

  • abusive, threatening, or offensive language,
  • hate speech, harassment, or discrimination of any kind.

LiveGuruji or the Tutor may remove you from a class or batch for serious misconduct, repeated disturbance, or violation of these Student Terms, without refund.

You must follow any reasonable instructions or class rules given by the Tutor, as long as they do not conflict with these Student Terms.

8Account Sharing, Recordings & Intellectual Property

  • You must not share your login details, meeting links, or access to live classes with anyone else. Your account is strictly personal and non-transferable.
  • You must not record, redistribute, publish, or sell any part of the course (video, audio, slides, code, notes) without prior written permission from LiveGuruji and the Tutor.
  • LiveGuruji and/or the Tutor may record live classes for:
    • quality control,
    • dispute resolution,
    • limited-time student access (if enabled).
  • By enrolling, you consent to such recordings, subject to applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
  • All course content remains the intellectual property of the Tutor and/or LiveGuruji. You are granted only a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to view the content for your personal learning.

9Reviews, Ratings & Feedback

You may be asked to rate the course and Tutor and to submit written feedback. You agree to:

  • provide honest, fair, and factual feedback,
  • not submit defamatory, abusive, or fake reviews.

LiveGuruji may remove reviews that it believes are fake, malicious, or irrelevant.

Providing false or coordinated negative reviews to force refunds, discounts, or personal benefits is considered fraudulent behaviour and may result in:

  • account suspension,
  • denial of refunds,
  • removal from courses,
  • possible legal action.

10Anti-Fraud & Misuse Policy (Protecting LiveGuruji & Tutors)

To prevent misuse and ensure fairness, you must not:

  • enroll, attend most of the course, then demand a full refund claiming dissatisfaction without proper evidence;
  • enroll with the intention of copying content, slides, or teaching methods for commercial use;
  • create multiple fake accounts or use other people’s accounts to access the same course;
  • share paid course links or meeting details publicly or in WhatsApp/Telegram groups.

If LiveGuruji has reasonable grounds to suspect fraud, cheating, or misuse, LiveGuruji may, without prior notice:

  • suspend or permanently block your account,
  • remove you from one or more courses,
  • refuse any current or future refund,
  • withhold any pending services,
  • take legal action to recover losses and damages.

LiveGuruji’s decision in such matters will be final and binding, subject to applicable law.

11Platform Availability & Changes

  • LiveGuruji does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the Platform or classes. Scheduled maintenance, upgrades, or unexpected outages may occur.
  • Course schedules, Tutors, or formats may be modified when necessary (for example: Tutor illness, very low enrollment, or operational issues). In such cases we will attempt to provide reasonable notice and alternatives.

12Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law:

  • LiveGuruji’s total liability for any claim arising out of or related to a course or the Platform will be limited to the amount of fees actually paid by you for that specific course.
  • LiveGuruji will not be liable for:
    • indirect, incidental, or consequential damages,
    • loss of data, career opportunities, or income,
    • issues arising from third-party tools (video platforms, payment gateways, etc.).

13Privacy

Your personal data will be collected, stored, and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy available on the Platform. By using the Platform, you consent to such processing.

14Changes to These Student Terms

LiveGuruji may update these Student Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on the Platform with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Platform or enrollment in any course after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Student Terms.

15Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  • These Student Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
  • Any dispute shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably through written communication with LiveGuruji support.
  • If not resolved within a reasonable time, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pune, Maharashtra, India, subject to applicable consumer protection laws.
